Insights into our Winterweek 2026
Date Published

Our annual Winterweek is once again in the books, and what a week it was!
For the first time in the history of the winterweek, we had two other student clubs that joined us, the FvCoM and the FAPS. Our journey started at Zurich HB, where we met up to catch the train towards Sedrun. (Nearly) everyone was on time and we managed to make it to Sedrun and our beloved home for the week, the Nova Casa Spinatscha. (And we 100% did not lose anyone during our travels)
Upon arrival, our amazing (!) kitchen team got to work right away and while we were unpacking, they prepared a welcome apéro.
At this point, big shoutout once again to our kitchen team! Thank you for keeping our bellies full during the week and putting in that effort. We really appreciate it :)

We didn't hit the slopes on our first day, but still time passed by pretty fast and before we knew it, it was already 8 PM and time for our Beerpong tournament! The team names were very creative, the level was insane and in the end, out of the 22 groups, the team "BeerBongers" emerged victorious. Congrats once again!
We then spent our week mostly on the slopes. However, we were a little more than 60 people in total, so we have no clue what everybody was up to exactly during the week, so that's just our educated guess.
But since the weather was on our side most of the times, we made sure not to sleep in too late and hit the slopes when the conditions were best. But also, keeping a healthy balance between skiing and après-skiing is very important too.👀
One of the highlights was definitely the bar visit on Wednesday.

With absolutely no one being hungover and everybody at their peak on Thursday morning, some people still decided that they wouldn't give 100% that day and spend a rather chill day at the house. We were also able to go night skiing on Thursday, which was pretty fun.
Friday was our last ski day and in the evening, we met up with the UZH Alumni Informatik for a candlelight fondue dinner. We then spent our last evening at home and of course, everyone went to bed early to be ready for the big house cleaning on Saturday morning.
After a troublesome journey back home (Thank you SBB), it was time to say goodbye. Exhausted, but with a week full of awesome memories and new friendships.
First, we would like to thank two of our sponsors of this week, RedBull and Chiefs. Thank you for keeping us energised with your drinks and powerbars!

A big thank you also to the VSUZH, for their support and for sponsoring the night skiing!
But most importantly, we want to once again thank everyone that joined us for this exciting week. It's only as special as the people who are there🫶🏼 We would love to see many of you next year and until then, stay safe :)
